Meet Our Staff
Coach Tomas as born in Havirov, Czech Republic and was brought up in Czech Hockey System. He played in the Czech Pro League for 6 years and played with many current day NHL players. He was coached by Miroslave Frycer, a former 1980 Olympic player and NHL player for the Toronto Mapleleafs. Coach Tomas is a USA Hockey Level 4 coach and has been teaching for the past five years. He has experience coaching at the Bantam Tier 1 and Tier II level. He served as assistant coach to the Bantam Major Ice Cats, Head Coach to the Midget Minor Ice Cats, Head Coach to the Midget Long Island Gulls/National Team and Head Coach to the Long Island Edge’s Pee Wee division. Coach Tomas also runs the EHA summer hockey camp at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. His European style of teaching hockey brings a fresh outlook both on and off the ice.

John Colford

John Colford played junior hockey for the New York bobcats (2000-2003). In 2003 he was named captain and the only player whose number was ever retired. He later skated for Sacred Heart University (2003-2004) in the an NCAA division and for the University of Delaware (2004-2007) in the ACHA division, his accolades include: University of Delaware (2005- 2007) Roland Bounds ”fan favorite award”, The ACHA a national championship (2006) and ACHA national championship frozen four (2007). After college John began coaching for the Long Island Gulls Midget National team, Green Machine Ice Cats and Apple Core. John received his Masters in Special Education and currently teaches on Long Island. For the last several years John has been the defensive coach for EHA in which he has implemented a rigorous off ice training program-

Michael plays for the Junior Islanders in the USPHL division. His position is both center and right wing. When not playing junior hockey Michael attend’s St. Joseph’s College and is
pursuing a degree in business/finance
